Mrs. Armah Akotey is MIA’s Board Chairman. She is the Chief Investment Officer of Databank Asset Management Limited,  providing strategic guidance to Databank Fund managers to effectively manage their investment portfolios. She provides directions for the development of investment policies and strategic asset allocation plans, explores innovative and new approaches to the investment process and steers the affairs of the Investment Committee. Having worked in Databank for over 12 years in various capacities, she has extensive experience in investment banking. This includes in-depth knowledge of asset classes, investment products and strategies that generate consistent alpha.
Until her appointment to this role, she was the Head of Institutional Business, responsible for managing a team to execute the discretionary mandates for institutional investors. Deborah was also the Head of the Fixed-income subcommittee of Databank’s Investment Committee. Prior to joining the Institutional Business, she was the Fund manager for Databank Balanced Fund. She has also worked with the Financial Control team of Databank Group in various capacities and has been involved with the financial control functions of Epack, Ghana’s largest equity mutual fund.
Deborah holds an MSc (Accounting & Finance) from Manchester Business School in the UK, and a BSc in Business Administration (Accounting option) from University of Ghana Business School, Legon. She is a Fellow of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA) and a CFA Charterholder.
