Abraham Mensah Belley

Abraham Mensah-Belley is the Investment Manager of Venture Capital Trust Fund (VCTF), where he leads the Investment Department in establishing and ceding Funds and handling the Trust’s portfolio matters. He also serves on the management team and plays a key role in the Investment Committee.

Before joining VCTF in August 2021, Abraham was the Senior Investment Manager for GroFin Ghana Limited and was responsible for all of the company’s investment activities and portfolio management. His role included providing support to the West African operations of GroFin and was the Expert in Education for GroFin Group. He also trained the first team of officers for GroFin Ivory Coast and played a key role in the continued development of strategic relationships.

Prior to joining GroFin Ghana, Abraham was the Head of Credit Administration Unit of the Amalgamated Bank Limited (now Bank of Africa Ghana) and was responsible for ensuring all credit administration matters were duly completed for every banking facility. He was also responsible for reporting to and liaising with the Bank of Ghana on all credit reporting. He held other positions at the bank in loan recovery, monitoring and evaluation, and loan credit analysis.

Abraham earned a Master of Science (MSc) in Development Finance and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Business Administration (Accounting Option) from the University of Ghana Business School. He is a certified SME consultant and has Ghana Stock Exchange Industry certified and holds other certifications in Impact Investing and accounting. 

Beyond his professional accomplishments, he is actively involved in various philanthropic initiatives, leveraging his expertise to empower individuals and promote financial literacy, especially for SMEs.
